Beschreibung
Toon Koster is an artist whose specific art style cannot be determined. His own style can be immediately recognised and characterises his work. He was influenced by the Hague School. The spacious skies of Weissenbruch, loose brushwork by Breitner and the dark palette of Belgian expressionist Permeke are shown in his work. He studied at the Rotterdam Art Academy around 1934, which was led by Johannes Heijberg and Willem van Dort. Toon Koster exhibited among others at the gemeentemuseum Apeldoorn, in the Katwijks museum and a group exhibition in the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam.
